On November 9, 2013, Centennial defeated Seton Keough and Easton by a score of 625 to 320 to 280 respectively. Our team was represented by junior and captain Ryan Heslin, senior Qian Mei, and junior Anant Mishra. The TV show aired on January 11, 2014.
On March 1, 2014, the Centennial It's Academic TV team won the playoff round at the WJZ-TV studios. The team, consisting of Junior Ryan Heslin (C), Junior Anant Mishra, and Senior Qian Mei defeated Baltimore Poly and Bel Air by a score of 715 to 425 to 320, respectively. The playoff round will be aired on Channel 13 on May 3, and our team will return to the studios on May 10 to determine the next Baltimore Metro Champion.
Pikesville defeated Centennial (and River Hill) in the Semifinals taping at WJZ TV on May 10 (430 to 400 to 405). This show will air on June 14th and can be recommended as a very exciting match with a great performance by our Drill Team. The other coaches consoled the team with the knowledge that 2 of our players will be back next year (Ryan Heslin and Anant Mishra) while Qian Mei is graduating and pursuing a Graphic Design Degree at the Honors College of Boston University. In the TV finals James M. Bennett won against Pikesville and Howard. Oakland Mills was also knocked out in the Semifinals.
